Physics Brief:
A positron is an antilepton matter particle. It has a net charge of +1, and a mass of 9.110x10-28 grams. It is the antiparticle of an electron. When a positron annihilates with an electron, the resultant energy is expelled as a gamma ray. Positrons are sometimes used as scanner carrier particles in StarFleet sensors.
