A neutrino is a
lepton
matter particle. It has a net charge of 0, and a low or zero mass.
There are three kinds of neutrinos: electron neutrinos, muon
neutrinos, and tau neutrinos. A neutrino is the
antiparticle of an antineutrino. It has spin 1/2 and so is a
fermion.
It does not interact with the
Strong Nuclear Force nor with the
electromagnetic force, but does interact with the
weak force. Because the neutrino only interacts with the
weak nuclear force, when moving through ordinary matter it's
chance of actually reacting with it is very low; the great
majority flies through anything without effect. |
