The panacea medical substance in use in the Empire. Bacta is a antiviral fluid impregnated with large amounts of rejuvenatory bacteria. When bacta is applied to a wound, the bacteria latch onto the injuries, aiding the recovery process. Grievously injured patients can be immersed in a bacta tank, allowing the bacteria access to all injuries at once. Bacta is able to deal with nearly all injuries and infections. The only notable exception is the inability to re-grow or reattach severed appendages.
