One of the distinguishing features of the Borg, the neurocollective is the system that supports the Borg's collective consciousness. Operating on a series of multi-modal subspace links, this network enables the minds of all Borg drones to effectively think as one. The tactical advantages are obvious, with near-instant communication among ships and individual drones allowing battle plans to be quickly updated at every point of attack. While it is possible to separate an individual Borg drone from the collective, it has not yet been attempted on an entire ship.
