Notes:   Designed to be a smaller and less capable counterpart to the Constitution class, the USS Miranda entered service one year before its larger cousin. There was a very high degree of commonality between the two classes, with the nacelles and most of the primary hull being almost identical. The smaller size of these ships was largely accounted for by a lower level of habitability for the crew and a reduction in the number of science labs from fourteen to ten. Even so the Miranda's were full Explorer type ships, fully capable of conducting long duration research missions. Their considerable armament also made them an important addition to the defense of the Federation. The most striking aspect of the Miranda Class and it's subsequent Mk. II and III incarnations are their lack of a traditional deflector dish; instead being replaced by an ambient particle deflector field.

The canon of THE FURRY CONFLICT does not necessarily follow that of Star Trek or Star Wars official canon to the letter, albeit much effort has been made to adhere to the spirit of both universes where apropriate. Be aware that certain technologies, facts, and circumstances have simply been added, deleted, or altered in the universe of TFC to suit the purposes of the story and it's creators. Therefore, TFC reflects a specific critical interpretation of Star Trek and Star Wars.
