The "Unknown Regions" of the Far Galaxy

The Unknown Regions are traditionally considered to be a large area of the galaxy not under Imperial occupation, that lies beyond the reaches of the Mid and Outer Rims. Technically, however, the truely Unknown Regions contain the vast majority of the known, though unexplored, galaxy; those star systems which do not lie along known hyperspace routes and are not a part of the larger galactic community. Additionally, space beyond the galactic rim that stretches into the dark void between galaxies is part of the Unknown Regions and is called Wild Space.

Though the traditional Unknown Regions account for a significant portion of the galaxy, much of it remains unexplored by the Galactic Empire. The primary reason for this is the fact that the Chiss control most of the border between the Unknown Regions and the rest of the galaxy, effectively cutting off expansion and exploration.

The Yuufusions

One of the major (and largely unknown to the Empire) powers from the deeper parts Unknown Regions is the Yuufusion Imperium, who are colloquially known as the "Amazons." The heart of their territory lies in Otrera's Star Cluster, but their space is vast and their influence extends clear along the galactic rim as far as the Ssi-Ruuk Star Cluster.
