Star Wars Questions
Endor
- What happened in the Massacre of Endor?
- The majority of the Rebel High Council was lost when the Rebel fleet was ripped apart by the Imperial Navy. The survivors scattered. Some returned to their other lives, some have turned to smuggling, and some are in individual Rebel cells. There is no longer a unified Rebel Alliance; they all operate independently as of TFC Episode I.
Imperial laws & policies
- How do Imperials treat a newly-conquered world?
- The way in which a planet is treated depends upon its natural resources and how easily they can be exploited, the local governor or prefect who is assigned to the planet, and the planet's strategic value in any ongoing campaigns. IF the planet is taken over, this is a general template - circumstances would differ from planet to planet depending on the factors at stake. First, Imperial troops (probably Imperial Army regiments) would be given control of all planetary defense systems. Second, Imperial troops will establish defensive positions and reinforce them in case of a counterstrike. Only when planetary defense and Imperial victory were in the bag would the rest of the operation begin.
- Is gambling legal in the Empire?
- There is no definitive answer. Is gambling available? Yes. Is it legal? Perhaps.
- Is slavery legal in the Empire?
- Does the Galactic Empire tax its citizens and businesses?
- Absolutely, otherwise there wouldn't be such a big reason for smugglers to operate in the numbers that they do. However, we don't know what those tax rates are.
Stormtroopers
- Are there specialty Stormtrooper units in TrekWars?
- Yes. From most common to least common: Snowtroopers, Scout Troopers, Seatroopers, Spacetroopers, and Sandtroopers all exist. This list is by no means comprehensive and is subject to change.
- What does Stormtrooper armor for furries look like?
- The helmets are elongated to adapt for muzzles and there is tail plating.
- Do Stormtroopers get R&R?
- Yes.
- Are Stormtroopers at TFC clones?
- No.
Force Users
- Sith vs. Dark Jedi: What's the difference?
- Short version: according to strict canon, a Dark Jedi is a Jedi Padawan, Knight or Master who has been corrupted by the Dark Side. A Sith is a being corrupted by the Dark Side whose training stems not from the Jedi Order, but from the ancient traditions of the Sith. There are both Dark Jedi and Sith under the Emperor's control.
- Are other non-Sith, non-Jedi Force using factions around in TFC?
- Nope. Force users who don't support the Emperor generally are not tolerated.
- What orders are there within the Sith?
- Can Sith and Jedi use the Force to enhance their physical attributes?
- Yes. The Force can be used to augment physical attributes such as the ability to run, jump, etc. The only thing that holds them back from this is their own ability to believe that they can do these things. "I don't believe it." "That is why you fail."
- Does telepathy from non-Force users affect Force users?
- Sure, if the variables are in your favor. They will shake it off eventually, though, and probably much more quickly than a non-Force sensitive would be able to. Some Force users are going to be inherently harder (or downright impossible) to meddle with on a telepathic level. It all comes down to each Force user's particular skills and the particular skills of the telepath at hand.
- Could a Force user be drugged?
- This is an unlikely eventuality. Force users throw off sedatives and other mind-altering substances very, very quickly.
- How many Sith are there at TFC?
- The answer to this question is really not known, but a fair guess would be around 200 Sith and/or Dark Jedi under the Emperor's command, with at least that many Jedi Hunters as well. This is by no means a definitive answer.
Bacta
- How does the Rebellion get its medical supplies, if the planet Thyferra (only known source of bacta) is under tight Imperial control?
- The Rebellion does not exist as an organized body anymore. Some Rebel remnants, if they have enough credits, may be able to secure illegal bacta and other illegal medical supplies through smugglers. The amount available would be very limited and prohibitively expensive, however.
The Emperor
- Does the Emperor have specific servants along the lines of the Emperor's Hands?
- He has many servants for many different purposes. He doesn't call all of them his Hands, though some may bear the title. Most of the Emperor's servants are Sith, as the Rule of Two has been conveniently dropped.
- What species is the Emperor?
- The Emperor is a fennec fox.
Ysalamiri
- Do ysalamiri exist in TFC?
- Yes, but they are heavily controlled by the Empire, as are the vornskr.
- Can I smuggle ysalamiri?
Yuufusion/Amazons
- What are the Yuufusion?
- They are a race from the Unknown Regions of the Far Galaxy.
- Are the Yuufusion the same thing as the Yuuzhan Vong?
- No.
- Are the Amazons pacifists?
- No, but they do not have the resources to take on the entirety of the Galactic Empire just because their empress wants to help the Rebel remnants.
Hutts
- Do the Hutts exist in TFC?
- Yes.
- What species are they?
- Slugs, perhaps, or very large, squashed-looking cats. Whatever works; species are generally approved on a character biography-to-biography basis.
- Do the Hutts operate in the Alpha Quadrant?
- Smugglers have managed to get goods through the Rift for trade with the Ferengi, and many smugglers work for Hutts.
- How do the Hutts defend their space from the Empire?
- They don't. The Hutts survive by remaining unobtrusively in the background, taking pains not to step on the wrong toes, and trying to keep the appropriate palms greased with credits within the Empire. It is a corrupt but functional system. The Hutts are well aware that the Galactic Empire has much better firepower than they do, and that the Imperials will move in on them if they make the wrong decisions.
Katana Fleet
- Has the Katana Fleet from Timothy Zahn's novels been located in TFC?
- Nope.
Xenophobia
- What species is the Empire most xenophobic toward, now that all Imperials have animalistic appearances?
- Land-based mammals have it better than water-based mammals. All mammals have it better than species that are insectlike, reptilian, or amphibian in appearance. These guidelines are not carved in stone; some mammalian species such as Wookiees are still treated very poorly by the Empire.
The Jedi Purges
- What happened inside the Jedi Temple when the Empire was declared?
- The Emperor sent Sith operatives into the Temple to kill the inhabitants. One or two may have held a higher rank, but most of these Sith were probably Jedi Hunters. The number of Jedi and Sith killed during this operation is not known.
Clones
- Does TFC use clonetroopers?
- No. Were there clonetroopers? Probably, yes, but those projects have been abandoned by the Galactic Empire.
Midichlorians
- If I were to get a nice sample of midichlorians and inject myself with them, would I be a Jedi/Sith/Force-sensitive scratching post?
- The TFC policy regarding midichlorians is that they are an indicator of Force-sensitivity, but not the cause. The fact that Perdia is revealed, in the early chapters of Episode II, to have a high midichlorian count is an indicator of her raw potential within the Force. Marc is the best example of this: midichlorians only occur in the bloodstreams of those born in the Far Galaxy. Marc has no midichlorians, was not born in the Far Galaxy or of Far Galaxy ancestry, and yet he is Force-sensitive.
- So people without midichlorians can be Force-sensitive?
Sexists in the Empire
- Are men still considered the superior sex within the Empire?
- Can women serve in the Imperial Navy?
- Yes, though they should expect vastly unfair treatment and downright abuse from their male colleagues, and would have had great difficulty even getting admitted into any of the naval academies. If you want another venue for a female pilot or soldier, there are always planetary defense leagues and the like which may not be as sexist as the Imperial Navy itself.
- Can women serve as Stormtroopers?
- Probably not.
Star Trek Questions
The USS FELIX
- What number and type of fightercraft does the FELIX carry in Episode II?
- Do we have a blueprint for the FELIX?
- No.
- Is the FELIX the only Starknight-class vessel?
- Yes. The original USS STARKNIGHT was destroyed; the FELIX is the only other vessel of its class that was constructed.
- What is the motto on the dedication plaque for the FELIX?
- There is some debate between "To boldly remodulate the transverse quantum flux state of the ventral thrust collimator array using an inverse graviton beam where no one has remodulated the transverse quantum flux state of the ventral thrust collimator array with an inverse graviton beam before" and "Imagination is the eye of the soul."
Borg
- Do Borg transporters operate through shields in the TFC universe?
- No.
- Will there be Borg Jedi?
- No.
- Do the Borg at TFC have planetary shielding?
- Insufficient data. Question deemed irrelevant.
Section 31
- Are you going to have scenes with Section 31 in TFC?
- We could tell you, but we would have to kill you. In all seriousness, Section 31 is much like any other group in operation in the Federation: if we need to use them, we will use them, but we will not use them simply to ramp up the "cool factor" or anything along those lines.
Starfleet Uniforms
- Are TFC's Starfleet uniforms different than those of canon Star Trek?
- Yes. In TFC, Security personnel have their own color (green).
The Orion and Ferengi
- Do the Orion and Ferengi conduct business operations on the other side of the Great Rift?
- Sort of. The Ferengi and Orion trade with the Hutts. It's probably not legal, and probably not actively stopped, either.
- Are Ferengi females liberated at TFC?
- If it fits in with the changes to the Trek canon, then yes. Ferengi women were liberated during DS9, and not all of DS9 is canon for TFC's purposes simply because TFC existed before the later parts of DS9 did.
Scrapyards
- Do scrapyards exist in TFC for decommissioned starships to be dropped off at?
- There are scrapyards in TFC for both military and civilian use. While you can drop a junker ship off at one of these scrapyards, you cannot pick one up here, nor can you purchase parts from one of these scrapyards. They are for garbage purposes only.
Trek equipment and the Force
- Can tricorders detect midichlorians?
- The better question: could tricorders detect midichlorians? Yes, if they knew what to look for. By early into Episode II of TFC, there are only a handful of Alpha Quadrant natives who have even heard of midichlorians, and even those don't know what they look like. Even if or when Starfleet scanners can detect midichlorians, there is nothing to prevent a Force user from using mind tricks to make the person behind the equipment read one thing and believe another.
Eugenics Wars
- Did the Eugenics Wars take place in the TFC timeline?
- Yes.
- Can I use information from the two Eugenics Wars novels and the Enterprise episodes dealing with the Eugenics Wars?
- No. None of those sources are canon. The only two canon sources for information on the Eugenics Wars are the TOS episode Space Seed and The Wrath of Khan.
AQ Force Awareness
- Do inhabitants of the AQ/Milky Way know about the Force?
- No. Tales that have reached the AQ about the Force equate it with magic, and magic is not something the inhabitants of the Milky Way believe in - not in this enlightened day and age. When Perdia demonstrates the Force for Lanna and Steve in Episode I, they have difficulty believing in it at first and run a number of scans and tests. There are higher-ups within Starfleet, however, who do know about the Sith, who are considered to be highly dangerous beings with telepathic and telekinetic abilities.
- Is the Force expanding into the Alpha Quadrant?
- Yes, but it is moving slowly. It is not a communicable disease; Force-sensitivity is not spread person-to-person. Milky Way Jedi and Sith are many, many generations off, assuming that the Milky Way does not explode in a shower of tapdancing tribbles anytime soon.
- Will there be other Force-sensitives in the Alpha Quadrant/Milky Way aside from Marc Xavier?
- Not anytime soon.
Voyager and Enterprise
- Is the Voyager still lost in the Delta Quadrant?
- No. For TFC's purposes, Voyager did not get tossed to the Delta Quadrant. Instead, it was tossed into the Andromeda Galaxy and presumed lost with all hands. Because of this, all of Star Trek: Voyager is not canon for TFC.
- Will Voyager ever be coming back, even if it isn't through a Borg transwarp conduit?
- No.
- Why is Voyager not canon at TFC?
- Because TFC has been around since before the ending of either DS9 or Voyager. Material created after TFC is either included in a highly modified format, or not included at all. The easiest way to deal with this, from the standpoint of Voyager, was to just write them out of the story altogether. We didn't want the uberweapons and technology they brought back from them to be a part of the TFC universe, classified or not.
- Why isn't Enterprise canon at TFC?
- The status of Enterprise has been long debated. It's still not clear whether the events were meant to be a part of the canon or just a holodeck program. Either way: it is not canon, has not ever been canon, and will not ever be canon for the purposes of TFC. None of the information contained within any of the episodes or material associated with Enterprise is canon.
Q
- Does Q/Q's species exist in TFC?
- Undoubtedly, but we're not using them at TFC.
- Can I make a Q?
- Only for spoof roleplays where Qs host reality television shows called "Pimp My Deathstar" where they make Deathstars into giant disco balls, dress everyone in bad Austin Powers costumes, get hopped up on spice, and then visit Risa.
