Background:
Ian Serancy was third born to a wealthy merchant family on Corellia. Being a natural loner he didn’t get along with other kids at school and became the prey of choice for roaming bullies. His parents were concearned about his dropping grades and increasing fights (well, beatings) and hired a tutor. Finishing his education Ian joined his fathers company and ,unlike his older brother and sister, choose to start off on the bottom learning to pilot ships and delivering cargo. While still slightly aloof he found dealing with other workes very easy, partially because his desire to learn everything they had to teach, but mostly because they prefered the soft spoken young man to his stuck up older brother. The first few years were diffcult for Ian since he had to juggle between his studies, work and pilot taining. Ian didn’t mind, he like challanges.
Over the years Ian became an accomplished pilot and a skilled negotiator. In his spare time he could be found in the machine shop working on the hull of an YT-2000 freighter he acquired, trying to bring the machine into working order. After about three years of constant work, hundreads of spare parts and a prayer the ship finally went on its maiden voyage that almost proved its last. Hauling expensive cargo the ship came under attack by pirates. After a system long chase Ian managed to lose his pursuers in the turbulent skies of a gas giant. Frankly amazed how well his ship preformed he named it the Storm Rider.
The incident sparked an adventurers fire in Ian’s soul. From here on he would gladly take dangerous assingments, and while his father found this worrying, he soon realized that Ian would be a perfect addition the the crews assinged to his “other” opperations, namely smuggling. Although this ment a more dangerous employment, Ian happily accapted the job.
Since then he has been living abord his ship, accepting odd jobs as either a transporter or smuggler whenever his skill weren’t in demand by his father. His ship has become somewhat of a hobby, continuously being modifed and enchnced. Realising that he needed help in that respect, Ian has started looking around for a partner.

Character Notes:
Ian is generally a reserved and quiet person, but can warm up quickly and once befriended his loyalty is assured. While able to defend himslef, Ian preferes to talk his way out of a fight but will use every trick at his disposal if backed into a corner. Contradicting his usual mild mannerism is his love of challanges, and the more dangerous it is the more willing Ian is to accept it. At heart he is a kind person, always willing to offer aid to those that request it. He spends much of his spare time reading, and is always trying to get his hands on another technicall manual or textbook. Ian is intelligent, capable of keeping calm under pressure, albeit sometimes lacking in common sense
The Storm Rider varies from the standard YT-2000 in several respects: the cockpit is more angular, resembling that of a fighter. The tunnel connecting the cockpit to the main body of the ship is reinforced with armor plates that connect with the mandabies at either side and cover any recesses in the hull, giving the tunnel a hexagonal shape. The pillbox-style weapon mounts have been replaced with encampments more akin to the YT-1300, each turret mounting a twin linked laser cannon. Two more laser cannons are on either side of the cockpit, under the pilots control. The engine section is enlarged and encased in a rectangular housing, giving the stern a boxy apperance. In addition the ships sensors have been enchanced along with its shields.
