Background:
Aris grew knowing she'd be a very likely candidate for the Honor Guard, the elite fighting force handpicked by the Empress to guard and advise her, as her mother, Victoria, already held that position. But in a time of little or no conflict, her mother acted as more of a diplomat, dragging her and her sister Lais from planet to planet. Less social than her little sister, this didn't bother her much, as she was, even as a child, critical of everything and preferred rapidly changing settings.
Aris worshipped her mother, and attempted to mimic her in every way, most noticeably her loud ranting about males (whom her mother didn't really hate, seeing as how she married one, but love complaining nonetheless). This confused Aris to no end and left her with an everpresent short fuse with the opposite sex. On one of her mother's trips she joined up with a group of juvenile delinquents, the Cloud City Velkers.
Being in Cloud City, more than any place, allowed her to become an important member of a social group, as she was an excellent fighter and invaluable in a scuffle with other gangs. What is odd about this period of her life is that she took on the Basic version of her name which is "Erin," leading other members of the gang to believe she was actually was a he. In truth she'd become fond of the group's leader, a young miscreant by the name of Germani Walker, who impressed her with his own breed of street fighting skills so much that there are many traces of it in her own fighting techniques.
By the age of 13, during a fight, Aris' gender came to light, causing most of the Cloud City Velkers to shun her. The leader stayed by her side, eventually causing the group to disband entirely. This sacrifice touched her so deeply that she invited him to accompany her back to Kawaii on her final trip back where she would officially become a member of the High Honor Guard. Germani remains one of the few people she confides in and the only male she tolerates (and teases without malicious intent).
Upon returning to the Amazonian homeworld, Aris was surprised that the young Empress had chosen her to not only be a member of the Honor Guard, but the leader of the group, the Empress' own second-in-command, despite the fact that she is younger than all the other members.
Character Notes:
Ferocity describes Aris best. Aris is the fiercest and dangerous of the Honor Guard, despite her relatively small size, she possesses amazing speed and courage. Honor and loyalty are incredibly important to her. Although Violet bears the sting of her snidest and most cruel remarks, she is loyal and protective of her, able to be viciously defensive at an insult from anyone else. Aris is perhaps best known for her short fuse, however this is more legend than fact, possessing a soft spot for cute animals and being mild mannered among females. Her only real irritations stem from males and dishonor. Germani seems to be the only one immune to her temper and she often gets very confused and flustered around him.
She and her sister Lais are almost complete opposites and bicker constantly - verbal bouts that usually escalate into duels that are tolerated for a time, then stopped by the Empress and other two members of the Guard before they cause too much destruction. Despite the routine death threats, they care for each other and would never really carry them out.
