Background:
Background: The planet Firrerre is known for many things, but most prominently it is known for its otter population, the majority of which is clustered into large family units known as Holts. Many holts, disliking the atmosphere and government of their homeworld, have taken to the stars in large freighters, only to start family businesses in many shapes and forms. Dakali Silverstream Nimhsakè was born into the colony of freighter-otters known as Holt Silverstream. Holt Silverstream was a group of performing artists, who travelled the galaxy doing circus-style shows on a variety of different planets. Dakali, or Daki as she was more commonly known, began participating in the stage shows at the age of 6, working the trapeze with her brother Zakim. Her first show was done on the planet Lemoria Prime; many of the audience members were taken aback at how skillful the child trapeze artist was. Although Daki honed her flying skills on the trapeze, what she had always really wanted was to be a part of the comedy troupe. A very politically inclined group, the comedians would address current issues in a very off-beat, humourous way. Daki practiced and practiced, and at the age of 16 was admitted into the close-knit group. She was given the part of the sarcastic, witty droid counterpart, and was given a costume to match. Daki played in the role of her dreams for nearly two years, throwing the audience into hysterics with her antics. Life seemed perfect. In her eighteenth year, however, the dream was shattered. Holt Siverstream was to perform on the planet Chandrila. Despite warnings of an imperial attack, the Holt, somewhat in monetary need, decided to perform anyways. They set up the stage, and once a decent-sized crowd had gathered, the performance began. Dakali finished her trapeze rountine, and put her droid costume on, ready to perform as she had been doing. Daki was halfway to her place on stage when blaster fire began raining into the stadium. The massacre of Chandrila had began.
The outcome was disastrous. All of Daki's holt-family had been killed, save for her; the only thing that had kept her from joining her family was her droid costume, and even that had not prevented all damage. The muscles in Daki's left arm had been ripped out by a blaster bolt, and another one left her tail hanging from a few pieces of skin and muscle, ripped almost completely off. Debris had crushed her left leg, and had landed on the helmet of her suit, driving shards of glass from the eyepiece into her left eye. The young otter would never fly again. But she was indeed alive.
Daki forever after had a very hard time trusting anyone. She resorted to smuggling and freelance odd jobs, after meeting members of another holt, Holt Ghostwater, performing in much the same way. Her damaged limbs and eye were replaced with mechanical ones. The surgeon performing the replacement offered Daki furred, complete-looking limbs, but Daki declined, preferring the odd-looking, metallic replacements. She even upgraded her replacement eye, changing it so that in addition to seeing colors and light, her eye could sense infrared and UV wavelengths, depending on which setting she changed it to. Her constantly-shifting eye bothered most people, so she came to wearing a patch over it.

Character Notes:
Dakali carries her comedic side with her always, firing off a good crack even in the tensest situations. Despite her tragic accident, Daki is able to keep herself in good physical condition. She smuggles with the best of them, even modifying her freighter to hit ridiculously unstable speeds, especially for its condition. She is not afraid to take risks, and even often revels in the danger that she gets herself into.
