Book of Sights

The Book of Sights was written by Shakar Lu, a Bajoran prophet, during the fourth age. The prophecy is regarded as incomplete, as Talunar Edam and Osapu Aeretha never finished their full translation. It is presented here in its most complete form. Scholars should read the prophecy with the knowledge that many of the passages appear to repeat themselves, possibly due to the inaccurate computer-based translation of the original scrolls.

The Prophecy

. . . and thus, the sky shall be opened, and from it spill forth a new power; one with the taste of both Good and Evil. And out of the mouth of the wounded sky will appear a world which the hand of The Creator did not form. When the season of the world is not yet manifest, two vipers shall appear among the spirit of a false peace. Beware those speakers of peace, for they shall deceive many and bring the 'Death of the Stars' upon all who should oppose them.

For a time, the false peace shall reign, but it will soon be torn asunder. There shall be Two; one to preside over the calm and the other over chaos. The Lord of Calm shall question his ways and the Lord of Chaos will destroy them, but even he, for a time shall bow before his master. Only when his time has been fulfilled shall he be loosed upon the heavens to bring his terror and dominion upon Creation.

And thus The Knight of the Stars shall slice forth with her sword and with the tip pierce the sky. She shall look upon the wound she has caused and abhor it. And the land that was once before never shaken shall suddenly come to life. The sun shall turn dark and thus, the sky shall be opened, and from it shall spill forth a new power; a power with the taste of both Good and Evil.

The Knight of the Stars shall marvel at the world, and attempt to learn its secrets. But it shall err and the wound will be healed for a time—sealing her heart within it. At the end of the time, the wound shall open again, and the Knight and her brethren shall war against the world and its children. For a time they shall be against each other, but they will soon make truce.

A Bird shall ascend from the land and rise forth to the Knight, and she shall meet with her heart. And when her heart is gone, the Knight shall mourn, and The Bird will be a harbinger of The Darkness. But the Knight will not heed her warning, and the Dark Times will soon come upon them all.

The Prophets know, foreknew, and shall know of these tribulations, and therefore pour out their wisdom upon the rock.
