Zachary Bennett Zabella
has a very colorful and quite unusual background. His mother was
serving as Chief Engineer aboard the U.S.S. CHRISTINA, an
Excelsior-class vessel, patrolling the outer edge of Federation
territory when they discovered an Andorian vessel adrift. The
captain ordered an away team to board the derelict vessel, including
Natalia. They found five alien males and ten females unconscious and
the ship in tatters. The crew was brought to the Christina’s sickbay
where they were analyzed and treated while their ship was repaired.
They identified themselves as being Andorian outcasts because they
couldn’t decide on a Co-operative to join so they set out on their
own. Apparently Natalia Zabella and one of the Andorian officers,
together conceived Zachary. After their ship was repaired, they
continued on their journey to settle on their own. All that Zach was
left was his father’s war-like nature. Zach grew up aboard the
CHRISTINA with his mother who taught him everything she could
about engineering to help prepare him for what is to come and he
also earned the respect and admiration of the officers.
In 2358, the U.S.S. CHRISTINA brought Zach to Earth to enlist
in the Academy. He enrolled in Advanced Starship Design, Advanced
Quantum Physics, Propulsion Systems, and several other advanced
engineering classes. He always kept a cool head about these things
and held back his aggressive nature as his mother told him because
they would just get him in trouble. With his incredible athletic
abilities, intelligence, and excellent personality everyone grew to
like him and show him respect. Zach was recruited to join Red Squad,
the elite because he showed to be very promising. He accepted the
offer and stayed with Red Squad until his final year, when he was
expelled out of the squad after disobeying orders in one of the
holographic simulations. Zach was given command of an Ambassador-class
vessel to lead a special training OP to penetrate deep within the
“enemy’s” zone. His shields were at 23% with aft shields gone,
photons disabled, phasers destroyed, propulsion critical, and main
power compromised. The exercise was supposed to be terminated as
soon as his vessels main power went offline. But Zach kept going, he
disabled the simulations shutdown sequence because he knew he could
win if he played his cards right. He was up against the “enemy’s”
remaining forces, an Excelsior starship as well as an Oberth
starship. The two ships were coming directly at him, side by side,
when he started venting warp plasma from the nacelles and gradually
made a 180degree turn, and when his opponents fired it ignited the
plasma disabling both ships and “killing” all members in the aft
section of the ship due to the lack of shields in that section when
the explosion just caught the stern of his vessel. Unfortunately for
Zach he was expelled from Red Squad for not complying with the
missions guidelines; overriding the simulations parameters and
jeopardizing his crew -members in an extreme situation. Despite his
Red Squad incident he was allowed to continue with the Academy.
On his free time Zach studied Klingon combat techniques and became
very skilled with the bat’leth. He was also very fond of the Lirpa,
an ancient Vulcan weapon. He loved the game of soccer and became one
of the better players of his day. Zach wanted to test his
swordsmanship skills so he decided to participate in the Alpha
Cygnus Tournament. His first year at the Academy, and he won the
tournament and the three to follow. Zach took up the piano and
saxophone and became a very good musician too. He had a falling out
with rules and authority, which brought his grades down and ruined
some of his credibility. Zach started to lose interest in his
StarFleet training and dropped from 1st in his class to 8th. Upon
completion of the Academy at 8th place, he took time off to visit
Vulcan and try to find himself through logical reasoning. There, he
took things very seriously and enrolled in the Vulcan Institute of
Defensive Arts and the Vulcan Science Academy. This experience led
him to become more mature and achieved the Vulcan Logic Iotagram and
several other Vulcan awards. After taking 2 years off of StarFleet
he was recalled back to join the StarFleet Corps of Engineers for
his excellence in Starship Design.
Zach worked his way up the rankings to Commander for all of his hard
work and great ideas. For eight years he worked hard on a special
vessel design he came up with set forth by Special Services. The
vessel had to be agile, powerful, and self-capable, this turned out
to be the Khitomer-class counter-strike vessel. StarFleet R&D
funded the production and testing of his vessel, which was quite
considerable since it took several tries to couple the quantum
phaser canons to the EPS grid without causing cascade overloads.
Upon the completion of the testing of the new vessel, Zach was
promoted to Captain and given command of his self-designed vessel in
2374. |

| Zach is a Terran/Andorian hybrid Ocelot. He stands around 5'11" tall and carries with him a very well toned, muscular build. His deep blue short-haired coat carries black spots and a white underpelt. His glance is very unique; at times he looks at you in such a docile and peaceful manner but yet at other times he has the ability to pierice right inside of you. Zach also has a long short-haired tail with a large white tip. He is 34 but looks like he is in his late twenties rather then mid thirties. |
