Most records of Sher
Khal'Saad's life are tightly held secrets, classified by order of
the Emperor himself. Details of his early childhood are few; it is
known that he was born to Coruscanti parentage, and his birth year
has been verified by genescan. It is also known that at the age of
three, he was brought by Angorite slavers to the desert world of
Tyranus, where he was sold to the reclusive Monks who inhabit that
blasted world's jagged mountain peaks. Beyond this, there are no
known records of his infancy or parentage. Why it is the Monks of
Tyranus had been led to take him in is a secret known only to them;
perhaps the DarkSide whose lore they cherished guided their elders
to seek out this young tiger-child as an acolyte.
He spent much of his early years in intense training, learning to
harness and channel his hatred and aggression under the tutelage of
the dark Monks. Khal'Saad's power and skill with the Dark Side
astounded even his instructors, and he was considered a prodigy,
mastering every skill, every nuance of Darkness with an almost
fanatic determination to excel. As he grew in power and knowledge,
the young Sith Acolyte felt increasingly trapped, isolated from the
larger universe which he could sense just beyond the atmosphere of
the dismal world which was his only home. He yearned to taste the
power, the destiny which he sensed lay before him, and as he
approached young adulthood, he was given his opportunity. When the
black-robed servants of the Emperor came for him, they found him
more than ready to accept their offer of a new life, a life offworld,
a life within the New Order. Khal'Saad never hesitated, nor did he
look back.
The Emperor had watched him from afar and recognized the young man's
potential, though he remained mildly suspicious of the more
traditional nature of his training. The Monks of Tyranus were an
ancient cult, keepers of many of the deepest secrets of the Sith and
legendary in ancient times for their mastery of the Dark Arts,
whereas the Emperor and his supporters were of the "New School" of
Dark Side teachings known as the Reformed Sith Order. Years of
grueling challenges were required of the Emperor's new protégé, and
the dark ruler subjected him to endless tests of loyalty. But
Khal'Saad served his new master well, apparently abandoning the
ideology of his youth to serve as the Emperor's secret hand within
the Imperial Military, keeping watch for murmurs of rebellion and
coup from within. Ever vigilant, Khal'Saad remained prepared to
wield the fleet with the skill and precision of a lightsaber should
any Admiral or Moggy dare to rise against the New Order.
His formal education took place at the Imperial Naval Academy, where
he graduated at the top of his class; the same driven intensity
which had marked his training with the DarkSide he now applied to
his studies within the Academy. He mastered both classical and
contemporary military strategy, and often dominated his classes,
pointing out obvious flaws in the accepted doctrines of combat, and
proposing solutions so elegant in their simplicity that often his
instructing officers found themselves embarrassed. Several attempted
to have the young man censured, only to find their own careers
jeopardized by the quiet, relentless influence of those who watched
from afar. It soon became widely accepted that Cadet Khal'Saad was a
rising star, and several in the High Command made pains to go on
record with their recommendations for his rapid promotion once his
studies were complete. Cadet Khal'Saad graduated with honors from
the Naval Academy of Corellia four years after enrollment, and
immediately entered the Imperial Navy as a Lieutenant Commander,
serving as chief tactical officer aboard the ISD Merciless during
both the Koornacht and Maytang uprisings.
Since that time, his career in the Imperial Navy has been a study in
excellence. His victories in combat are legion and possess a
brilliance equaled only by such legendary geniuses as Grand Admiral
Thrawn and others of that caliber; he has displayed an almost
uncanny ability to know the minds of his opponents and predict their
strategy in battle. His quellings of the rebellious Qual'radii and
Rith'aiin Sectors were so ruthless and totally complete that they
are currently used as textbook examples at the Academy (and resulted
in the regrettable death of the Moggy previously charged with the
task). |

| Sher
Khal'Saad's lightsaber:
The handle of this weapon is
unusually ornate and inspired by the legendary lightsabers of
the ancient Sith. It incorporates a power stud, an
intensity/amplitude control and a locking mechanism that
allows the weapon to remain lit when thrown. Lord Khal'Saad is
an expert in its use; his skills with a lightsaber have been
refined over many decades to the level of a fine art and this
blade is perfectly crafted for the swift, precise movements
typical of his fighting style. This is the weapon of a
virtuoso, and is Lord Khal'Saad's greatest masterpiece. |
| Sher Khal'Saad's
Vibrodagger:
While Lord Khal'Saad has many
weapons of more exotic make, this one holds a particular
sentimental value for him. It was the ceremonial blade
presented to him as Lead Cadet of his Academy class, and holds
a place of honor on display in his private collection of
blades. On very rare formal occasions he will wear it as part
of his military dress. By tradition, once drawn it must never
be sheathed without having first tasted the blood of an enemy. |
| Sher Khal'Saad's
Automatic Blaster Pistol:
This exotic, compact and deadly
blaster pistol is superficially similar to the Blastech DL-30;
however this weapon has been redesigned specifically for
automatic fire in three-shot bursts. Its barrel is two
centimeters wider than the DL-30 model, and made of
molecularly bonded materials guaranteed never to warp or melt;
its heavy duty power pack will allow thirty full power bursts
to be fired before needing to be recharged. This custom-built
weapon was presented to Lord Khal'Saad as a gift in honor of
his successful pacification of the Rith'aiin Uprising, and the
almost incidental rescue of several Blastech executives who
had been taken hostage during that bloody campaign. |

|
| Grand Admiral Khal'Saad
is tall and muscular, his body hardened by decades of physical
discipline and training; his demeanor is calculating and precise,
and he speaks in a low, cultured purr that can be truly chilling to
hear. Sher Khal'Saad is highly intelligent, experienced and utterly
ruthless; he is always several steps ahead of the game in battle,
considering every possible contingency. He is a masterful strategist
and tactician, with a commanding grasp of military science and
history; this depth of understanding extends to his enemies as well.
In the interests of maintaining his secrecy, he does not often use
his Force abilities in battle save in the most subtle manner; even
this is often enough to provide him with a decisive tactical
advantage. |
